The One About Ten Alissia Facts . . .

So it's the tenth of the month and I thought I'd share ten facts about Alissia now that she is just over a month old:

1) she has started to smile

2) she likes to fall asleep whilst being cuddled on mine or M's chest

3) she squeaks whilst she drinks her milk

4) she would rather look at the images on TV than focus on the toys in front of her when we play on the floor mat

5) when on her tummy on the mat she can move her head from one side to the other and back again

6) again on her mat, if you hold your hand in front of her feet she can push really hard, and push herself higher up the mat - she's going to be crawling early I think!  Those little legs are very strong!

7) she makes little grunting noises in her sleep, which is cute in the day, but can be loud enough to wake you in the night!

8) she is still only sleeping for 3 hour stretches at a time, although last Thursday we got 5 hours through the night and were really impressed

9) she falls to sleep if you take her in the car or walk her in the pram

10) she will wee everywhere just after you've finished changing her, but just before you put the clean nappy on, resulting in a whole new set of clothes being put on. (Oh and we've had several instances of projectile pooing but I won't say any more than that!)

The One About Alissia's First Meetings with People . . .

This month I've decided that my 10 on the tenth (organised by the fabulous Shimelle) is going to be related to Alissia, and the first 10 people that she has met.

First up are myself and Mark...

Then came my mum, or as she will be known - Nanny Ann...

Auntie C and Uncle T...

Her Grandma...

Her Grandaddy...

Her Auntie C and Uncle P... sadly no photos yet, but I'm sure this will be rectified soon

And finally my friends Cath and Allison

Ooops so there might be 11 people there but I couldn't really miss any of them off now could I?!!!

The One About 10 Things I want to Scrap...

Last night I started to sort out my scrap room.  I had done a lot of putting away of things a few weeks ago, then when the baby's room was cleared ready for plastering, a whole lot more stuff got put in my room.  So what was going to be actual scrapping turned into a massive tidy up.  And along the way I found photos and papers that I haven't used yet, and it made me thing that there must be at least 10 things that I haven't scrapped yet but would like to!  So here they are:

1) the holiday in Madeira

2) the holiday to Paris

3) My sister's wedding

4) M's best friends wedding

5) Our recent weekend away to the Lake District

6) Journal Your Christmas (which I'm hoping to make a start on tomorrow, M very kindly bought the kit from Shimelle as part of my Christmas present, wasn't that lovely )

7) Bump Pictures

8) The trip to Wembley to watch the Wigan Warriors final

9) My best friend birthday

10) Photos of the twins

Now this isn't a challenge I'm setting as there is no way I could all this before the 10th of December!  But it might help keep me focussed, although I have got half started projects upstairs that haven't made it on the list that perhaps should have done!

The One About Ten TV Shows....

So it's the tenth of the month and I thought this month I would share my favourite TV shows at the moment (but not in any particular order):

1 Strictly Come Dancing - how could you not love all those sparkly outfits!  Although I could do without Bruce he drives me mad!

2 Spooks - with so many twists in the story it always keeps me interested - although sometimes I do need it explaining to me!

3 Downton Abbey - any historical drama that comes on and I'm in.  I don't know why I love it because I know I couldn't live like they do, with the women not having jobs and just looking for a husband, but I'm impressed with the way the two younger sisters are wanting to be useful now that the war is on.

4 Strikeback - One to watch from Sky, with the idea for the first series coming from a book by Chris Ryan.  A secret division on the army (a bit like MI6) but they go off into far off countries to try to stop terrorist attacks.  Oh and its just got even better as there seems to be a mole in their camp!

5 Glee - Watching this makes me want to join a dance troop or something (although perhaps after baby is born, I'm not up to anything too energetic at the moment!) And it never fails to cheer me up.

6 Waterloo Road - I've been a keen fan of this right from the very first episode and have watched all the changes of head teachers.  I don't think its as good as when Jill  Halfpenny was in it though - that was the best series.

7 Holby City - This has been going that long that I can't even remember if it was originally a spin off from Casualty (although I have long ago gone off Casualty).  The underlying stories in it and particularly good, especially the one about the plastics department at the moment.  I try not to watch it when I eat my dinner though as there is always gory operating table bits in it!

8 CSI Miami - yes I know that sometimes M says the storyline is a little bit unbelievable & some of the science that they do in the lab isn't true to life, but it keeps me hooked right to the end as I never guess who's done it!

9 Castle - this is our bedtime TV show, and at the moment one 40minute episode can last three days because I fall asleep!  It's about a crime writer shadowing a police woman, and all the murders that they solve.

10 Fringe - two parallel worlds and lots of strange happenings!

It seems I'm spending a lot of time in the TV at the moment, keeping my ankles up and generally not doing very much at all.  Whoever said that you get your energy back in the second trimester was telling porkies!

The One About 10 Pregnancy related facts.....

So this month I've actually remembered about the 10th for Shimelle's ten on the 10th, and thought I might just take part.  Last month the 10th just whizzed straight by!

So I thought I'd share some pregnancy related information :)

1. We're currently at 19 weeks

2. On Monday we have our next scan and we're hoping to find out what we're having

3. We went to the Baby Show at the G-mex last Saturday and ordered our pram and all the nursery furniture

4. I was measured by an m&s lady who said I was obviously going to get very big, when asked how she could know that she replied 'because you bump has risen already' so now I'm worrying as I thin we'll be having a big baby.  It runs in M's family, M, his sister, his dad were all 9lbs or more!

5. I felt the first flutterings of baby inside me at week 16, then a week later M could feel her too with her hand!

6. We have bought a machine that lets you listen to baby's heartbeat, which we had a go on the other night, baby's heartbeat is really fast compared to ours!

7. I've managed to come off the anti-sickness tablets, and haven't felt as bad.  Having to drink lots of water, and eat plenty to keep the sickness away though.  Cake for dessert after dinner (thats the evening meal to any of you northerners out there - ongoing argument, which probably deserves it's own blog post!) and two packs of crisps every day!

8. I've been buying maternity clothes!  Jogging trousers for lounging round the house, and a T-shirt that says 'I love my bump' with a picture of Mr Bump from the Mr men on, as well as other things too

9. Apparently its really easy to strain a muscle.  A hormone is released during pregnancy that relaxes your muscles so they can stretch as the rest of you stretch.  What did I do?  Stretch a muscle just from carrying a basket of dirty washing down two flights of stairs!

10. So far I have put on 12lbs since getting pregnant!
