On the way home today I had a really random thought as I was driving in and out of parked cars. I remembered that in France, and Paris have a really weird rule about parking, down main streets. Well on the first half of the month everyone parks on one side of the road, then on the second half of the month they all swap over to the other side of the month! It was always interesting on changeover day because the cars were dotted on both sides. I never quite worked out how everyone knew which day they were supposed to swap! It makes sense though doesn't it! It's funny what triggers memories!!! So... does anyone else know of any strange customs in other countries?

The strangest driving custom I've come across was in Egypt....where cars on roundabouts had to give way to cars entering the roundabout!!!
They have the same rule in France for round abouts, I had completely forgotten! Not all of them, but some smaller out of the way ones. Thanks for reminding me!
Man, that sounds so confusing! Roundabouts are bad enough, I never knew they had different rules...
Suddenly really appreciating my parking space.
Oh that sounds so confusing for the roundabout! Downtown here you have to change the side of the street you are parking on depending on the time of the day, I think it usually changes around 6 PM, and again in the morning, but I don't live downtown so I don't know. Our tenants in our apartment buildings are happy we offer off-street parking!!! :) xoxo
Lovely to see you blogging again Gem and you sound so happy with M....

PS love that bag LOL.
You learn something new everyday, eh? I didn't know that - interesting! I know in LA my brother had to move his car when the bin loories were coming - no cars were allowed on the street on that morning every week
